Belt Hold

Yorikiri

A single long candle with no wick on the opening side — either a bullish open at the low or a bearish open at the high — an early-session dominance signal.

Card view

The Belt Hold is a single-candle pattern. A bullish Belt Hold opens at the session low (no lower wick) and closes near the high, showing relentless buying from open to close. A bearish Belt Hold opens at the session high (no upper wick) and closes near the low, showing unbroken selling.

It is similar to a Marubozu but the wick-free side is only on the opening end — there may be a small wick on the closing end. A Belt Hold after a significant prior move (in the opposite direction) carries reversal weight; in the direction of the prior trend it signals continuation.
