YM (E-mini Dow)
CBOT E-mini futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average. $5 per point, 1-point tick. The smallest-notional major US index future.
Formula
P&L = (Exit − Entry) × $5
YM tracks the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) — the 30 blue-chip US companies. It trades on the CBOT (part of CME Group) on Globex.
- Multiplier: $5 per index point
- Tick size: 1 point → $5/tick
- Settlement: Cash on the quarterly cycle
- Micro equivalent: MYM ($0.50/pt)
YM is less popular than ES and NQ for active trading but is used for Dow-specific strategies and as the lowest-cost entry point for index futures given its $5/tick value and relatively low margin requirements.
