BTQ TIDAL PWR quantum data center architecture is a proposed operating framework for bringing quantum equipment into facilities used for AI and advanced computing. The joint effort ties physical design to purchasing, supplier review, cybersecurity, and repeatable implementation.

The project starts with an operating model

BTQ Technologies Corp. is collaborating with TIDAL PWR, a Texas company involved in power generation and data-center development. Together, they plan to define a reference architecture for quantum-enabled facilities.

The model is intended to help operators assess equipment, select suppliers, establish security controls, and install quantum infrastructure. Early work will cover facility-design principles, sourcing needs, device-selection rules, post-quantum cryptographic protections, and an implementation process.

BTQ CEO Olivier Roussy Newton said trusted infrastructure requires more than quantum technology. Operators also need what he called “a clear path to deploy it.”

Responsibilities are divided by expertise

BTQ’s role covers solution design, guidance on post-quantum protection, purchasing frameworks, and mapping vendors throughout the infrastructure stack. Those areas connect technical requirements with the security and commercial decisions that precede installation.

TIDAL PWR contributes experience with power systems and large data-center facilities. Chad Swensen, the company’s president and CEO, described BTQ’s contribution as a practical structure spanning architecture, security, procurement, and supplier coordination.

The BTQ TIDAL PWR quantum data center architecture would combine those capabilities in one operating model instead of treating quantum hardware as a stand-alone facility upgrade.

Procurement and security shape the facility plan

Several workstreams are expected. The companies plan to establish a trusted reference design and create a technical path for placing quantum systems inside large facilities. They will also develop standards for acquiring devices and supporting components.

Supplier evaluation and supply-chain review form another part of the proposal. On security, the framework will address safeguards for enterprise information and computing workloads used by AI systems. A reusable implementation model is expected to accommodate multiple customer groups.

The combined scope recognizes that equipment alone is insufficient. Production deployment also depends on compatible infrastructure, qualified suppliers, purchasing controls, cybersecurity requirements, and an organized installation sequence.

Initial planning could lead to broader work

The first phase will concentrate on architecture and planning. BTQ and TIDAL PWR may pursue additional commercial or technical projects afterward, but the announcement did not provide specific commitments for that expansion.

BTQ says its wider platform uses neutral-atom quantum computing and extends across the technology stack. The company is developing hardware, middleware, and post-quantum protection for applications in defense, telecommunications, and finance.

At the announcement date, BTQ’s market capitalization was $463 million. The shares traded at $3.30, representing a 37% decline over the preceding six months. The quoted price was also substantially below the stock’s 52-week peak of $16.

Other corporate actions have widened BTQ’s reach

BTQ recently finalized its purchase of QPerfect SA after French regulators approved the transaction. QPerfect is a Strasbourg, France-based quantum computing business. The acquisition used both common stock and cash, carried an approximate value of €18.6 million, and placed QPerfect under BTQ’s full ownership.

The company also opened an at-the-market share program with authorization to sell as much as C$150 million in common stock. Cantor Fitzgerald Canada Corporation and Cantor Fitzgerald & Co. serve as the program’s agents. Authorized transactions can occur through Nasdaq Global Market and Cboe Canada.

BTQ separately named Brandt Pasco its U.S. strategic adviser for security and post-quantum cryptography. Following recent White House executive orders, he will work with industry participants and stakeholders in the U.S. government.

The proposal connects quantum technology with facility operations

The central objective is practical integration. The two companies are bringing architecture, sourcing, vendor assessment, security, power infrastructure, and deployment planning into a common reference model. The opening phase will determine whether that model supports a wider commercial and technical relationship.
